A picky eater with lots of allergies reviews a plain burger at 5 Acres.
Classic Burger
May the Fourth
Dan and I have very different tastes. Different tastes in food anyway. He loves everything I’m allergic to and I dislike all the other foods he enjoys. While we both ordered a burger at 5 Acres, our experience was far from similar. Dan ordered his fully loaded and I ordered mine plain per usual. Dan thought his burger was pretty great, while I thought mine was just okay. Granted, I’m not a fan of burgers, so finding one that I’ll love is like finding a needle in a haystack. Unlike Dan, however, I thought the shoestring fries were fantastic. Hot, because I ate them first, and lightly salted…delicious! As for the burger, well it fit nicely on the bun, but the bun had seeds. Sesame seeds which I hate. They resemble little meal worms and get stuck in my teeth. But that’s how the burger came, so I stomached them. The bun was also over-toasted and the burger was dry. I added a ton of ketchup to promote some sense of moisture, but I guess I added too much because the ketchup seeped right through the bun and erupted out the top. Oh well. It was our anniversary and we were on our way to an alumni reunion, so we clinked our soda cans and toasted the day:: To Future Burger Adventures and May the Fourth be With Us!
