Char-Grilled Chophouse Burger

Sour Mood

I contemplated ordering the filet mignon, but at $55 I chose not to. We were on vacation and there was going to be a mall in our future. I knew I’d be spending more than I should there, so I decided to save my dollars and order the burger for $21.50. Dan was sure this would be the best burger I’d ever have since his meal was so fantastic. He was wrong. To start, the bun was super soggy. Like it had gone swimming with Dan’s fish. And the burger had a ton of seasoning that I would surely pay for later. It seems all the goodness of this fine dining experience went to Dan. The fries were fine, but thank goodness for the focaccia bread. Which I loved and went on to eat nearly the entire loaf. Dan did manage to sneak a slice, and he’s lucky he still has all his fingers. I’m a sucker for garlic and this bread was super buttery and smothered in garlic. That’s garlic with not just a capital G, but with all the letters capitalized.
It reminded me of the delicious breadsticks I used to enjoy at Pizza Hut. And speaking of Pizza Hut, I probably should have stayed at the hotel and finished placing my order.
