A picky eater with lots of allergies reviews the Maine Fish Market Burger
Hamburger
Streamers not Steamers
My idea of a good time is not seafood. I’d rather have sweets, but since eating an actual meal is important, I ordered my usual – a hamburger, medium well, no toppings. This burger was huge! I’m certain it was bigger than Dan’s lobster. It was bigger than the bun! I don’t have much to say about the bun. It was hard. I’m not sure if it was toasted or just stale, but I suppose not many people order the hamburger at a seafood restaurant so I’m just happy it wasn’t moldy. The burger was super juicy, which should have been a good thing, but I was a little grossed out at the cow blood dripping onto my wrists and streaming down my arms. Especially after watching Dan dissect his steamers. My burger came with two sides and I chose two orders of fries. I could have had coleslaw (eww) or vegetables (ick), but I prefer fries. However, I was not able to eat these fries. There was so much salt, it glittered in the reflection of the overhead light.
Birthday Cake
We had come to The Maine Fish Market to celebrate Dan’s birthday. He is not a fan of sweets and was so full from his multi-course meal he insisted he couldn’t eat another bite. I am his opposite and would much rather eat cake than anything else and that is exactly what I did. The Towering Chocolate Cake did not disappoint. I savored all five layers of rich chocolate with sweet chocolate frosting. After all, it was a birthday and someone should be enjoying cake!
