A picky eater with lots of allergies and her friend visit the Yarde Tavern

I met my friend, Jen, on a cold Monday morning at the Yarde Tavern for lunch. It was Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and as a banker she had the day off. As a teacher, I also had the day off so it was the perfect day for a lunch date. With cold temps, but clear roads, I drove out to Enfield to meet Jen at the Yarde Tavern close to where she works. With kids and many businesses closed for the day, I was surprised how quiet the Tavern was. I was seated immediately and admired the decor while I waited for Jen to arrive. Wood paneled wainscotting lined the walls and a pair of sliding barn doors opened up to the bar. Along the clean white walls hung pictures of farms and buildings from years past that once served the town of Enfield. Jen soon arrived and we enjoyed catching up on everything from our daughters to the current book we were reading. The atmosphere at the Yarde Tavern was so relaxed and comfortable, I was banking on my burger to be just as good.
