A picky eater with lots of allergies reviews a plain burger at Zekes Bar and Grill
The Push
Teeing Off
I looked over the menu at Zeke’s and noticed The 19th Burger. Laughing out loud, I said, “That’s perfect! I can use that as part of my blog title – Total Eclipse of the Heart on the 19th Hole!”
Dan shook his head and retorted, “Or you could order The Push which is three dollars less and you’re going to ask for it plain anyway so you might as well.”
“Ok. You’re right.”
And he was right. I ordered The Push without toppings cooked medium well as usual. Just like Dan’s meal, I received a side of shoestring fries which were quite hot and I gobbled them up. I think if Dan would eat his fries first he wouldn’t be always complaining that they’re cold. My burger however was a different story.
I removed the top bun to add a squirt of ketchup and frowned. This was the smallest burger I’ve ever seen. Granted, I don’t even like burgers, but I was hungry!
“Looks like they cooked all the fun out of yours,” Dan grinned at me and I furrowed my brow.
The burger was a little dry, but not bad. The bun was a bit too buttery for me, but I ate it anyway. For me it was the fries that saved the meal. Slightly salted, and hot, they filled me up enough to endure the rest of the ride home.
