Roasted Turkey Plate

Craving a home cooked meal, Dan opted for the Roasted Turkey Plate. A large serving of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce covered the platter. The entire dish was exceptionally good: homemade and creamy mashed potatoes; homemade stuffing with lots of herbs; hand-carved turkey very moist and dripping with gravy. The herbs roasted along with the turkey left their signature flavors. But there was something else. Maybe cranberry sauce had been added to the seasoning? No. Chokecherry, perhaps? (“What’s a chokecherry?” I asked, but got no response. It’s probably better that I don’t know.) Whatever it was, a lovely medley of tastes made the meal a masterpiece.
But not 5 stars because Dan never gives 5 stars.
