A picky eater with lots of allergies and her husband review desserts at the Roundabout Diner.

Blueberry Muffin
Brownie Sundae
Second Breakfast
While I enjoyed my burger, Dan kept his eyes on the dessert case. He was particularly eying the Coffee Strudel Muffin. Thankfully, I scarfed that burger down so fast, Dan didn’t have to wait long to order his treat. Unfortunately, I wasn’t fast enough. With the last strudel muffin sold, Dan settled on the Blueberry Muffin. Now, if you ask me, I wouldn’t choose a muffin this late in the day. They are a breakfast food after all. But Dan was undeterred. The muffin was very dense, but tasty. After finishing it, Dan agreed that it was probably a bit stale from sitting all day. It was 4:30 in the afternoon at this point. He also considered that the muffin might have been more satisfying if he hadn’t guzzled three iced teas while waiting for me to finish my burger.
Just Desserts?
Diners are famous for their desserts1, but for me allergies often get in the way. For example, my all-time, number one, most favorite dessert in the world is a brownie sundae. And nine times out of ten it is ruined by nuts. But not this time! This time, the brownie was safe for me and my dessert dreams were about to come true. The most perfect brownie – warm, fudgey, cakey, yummy – topped with Gifford’s vanilla ice cream felt like a party in my mouth. And don’t let me forget the hot fudge – so fudgey, thick, and scrumptious! There are not enough stars in the world to rate this brownie sundae. It was OMG level good!
Always get dessert at a diner! They are usually homemade and everything at the Roundabout Diner (entreés, sides, and desserts) uses locally sourced ingredients 😊
